Receiving our Irish Flag: 1916 Commemoration

Today our school was presented with our Irish flag.
Sergeant Wayne Fitzgerald and Sergeant Marita Lafferty visited us (as did our Mayor, Frank Fahy) to present us with our Irish flag and the Irish Proclamation.
It was a very special occasion.
Many thanks for all the information we received about Easter Monday 1916, for patiently answering our many many questions and for joining us in our reading of the proclamation and the singing of our National Anthemn.

Learning about the 1916 rising

We are learning about the Easter Rising of 1916.
That was 100 years ago.
We know our National Anthem.
Today Niamh from Mr. Elwood's class brought us in the proclamation from 1916.
It was very interesting.
